Synopsis

Have you ever wondered why modern science teachers teach in the exact same fashion as teachers from 100 years ago? Do we know more today about science teaching? If so, our modern approach to science teaching should reflect what we know about learning and how our modern technology enables us to engage in world class teaching. Science teaching should reflect what we know about learning. Modern research on science teaching has let us know that learning is a socially constructed process that requires students to be active and engaged. As students in college science classrooms are approaching their classrooms, science professors should carefully construct science lessons that help produce engaged learning environments. This session will explore how to produce detailed and engaged science lessons to promote learning for every students.
